Crepuscular Comets & Crescents

Tonight is the new moon, which means that tomorrow evening a very thin crescent moon will lie low on the horizon in the dusk sky after sunset, similar to the accompanying image. A thicker and higher one will occur on Wednesday night. And if all goes well, those of us in the Northern Hemisphere will get to photograph Comet PanSTARRS along with it on both nights. Let’s hope all goes well!
