Night Photography Tips–Wear Black When Light Painting

It’s a good idea to wear black or dark clothing when you’re light painting so that any light hitting your clothes won’t reflect and interfere with the photo. This is particularly important when you’re in front of the camera. In some situations, you may even have to wear a face toboggan to keep the light from reflecting off your skin.

Night Photography Tips is a nightly feature in which I give a quick tip for night photographers. It’s a way to share all the little things I do and think about in my night shooting, without boring you with my usual wordiness. If you have a tip you’d like to share, please email it to me and I might include it here, along with a link to your blog or website.
