Waterfalls Photo Tour

I’m back home now after leading the North Carolina Waterfalls Photo Tour last week. We had a great group of photographers and enjoyed some really nice situations. Donna Eaton made this photo during Thursday morning’s sunrise shoot. It was among the best sunrises I’ve witnessed from this location. Visit Donna’s website at www.donnaeatonphoto.com

On Sunday morning we visited a “secret” site, where Donna made the second photo of yours truly in a setup shot for the group.

Tom Dills, my talented assistant on the photo tour, likes to say that I “went overboard” for the group. He wasn’t referring to me posing in the kayak for everyone. Nope, he meant it literally. Two days earlier I posed for the group in front of this same waterfall, but in a canoe instead of a kayak. Now, I like to think of myself as an experienced outdoors person, whether on water, trails, or rocks. So I can’t really explain why one second I’m posing pretty in that canoe and the next second I’m taking a cold swim. Oh well, I love an adventure!

Tom made the last image of the waterfall on Sunday morning. Has “calendar cover” written all over it. See more of Tom’s photos on his website at www.tomdills.com.

In addition to these, I’ve seen a lot more of the images made by some of the participants and I have to say I am quite impressed. Some of the photos look better than I would have imagined at the time we were there. Overall, it was a very talented group. I’m looking forward to the next waterfalls tour next April.

I want to see the shot of you falling out of the canoe. Yes, I have a weird sense of humor. 🙂
