Yellowknife in Afternoon Twilight

I’m digging deep for this one. Shot it about 12 years ago in Yellowknife, in Canada’s Northwest Territories. It was the middle of winter, but they were experiencing a heat wave at the time, so the temperature was a balmy 20 below zero Fahrenheit.

Yellowknife Canada under a morning twilight sky. Nikon F5?, Nikon 75-300mm lens?, f/16ish, 4ish seconds, probably Fujichrome Velvia film.

One thing I love about winter in high latitudes like this is the amount of darkness. The sun was above the horizon for only about 6 hours each day. I shot this image around 9:30 in the morning, right before the sun rose.

Talk about having lots of time to do it in the dark!
