Shoal Creek

Shoal Creek drains Jericho Cove in the Qualla Indian Reservation, southeast of Cherokee. I had expected a waterfall on the creek, but you can't see anything from the publicly accessible road that follows it a bit. Although this is Reservation property, it's not a situation like Soco Falls or Mingo Falls, where the public is invited. So I didn't explore on foot. Joe McCoy, who has a friend that lives nearby, has explored the creek and writes that it has a series of cascades and small falls, with one nice 30- to 40-foot cascade.
