Mill Shoals

On page 320 I mention an ugly green pipe and house that makes photography of Mill Shoals difficult. After the book came out I saw a Mill Shoals photo from Rich Stevenson and that pipe wasn't there! I visited the falls myself and sure enough, they've removed it. With the pipe gone and the house painted red (did they just put on a new coat?) you can make a good photo of the falls on Shoal Creek with the house above it.

Boxcar Falls

Tim Cartwright informed me of a stupid mistake I made on page 322—an error that somehow managed to slip through numerous edits. In the directions for Boxcar Falls I state that the trailhead is on N.C. 281. It is not; it is located on N.C. 215. All the other information is correct.
