High Shoals Falls

I can't believe how far behind I've gotten with updates! The loop trail leading to High Shoals Falls has been repaired and open for quite a while.

High Shoals Falls

South Mountains State Park received considerable damage from last September's hurricanes. The trail leading to High Shoals Falls was damaged heavily. Warren Parsons visited the park recently and said the footbridge over Jacob Fork is still out and a ranger told him not to even try hiking in that way. Warren made it to the falls by hiking in a counter-clockwise direction on the loop, thereby avoiding the section that parallels Jacob Fork. Warren said the ranger did not know when the bridge would be repaired.
