Lighthouses and beaches and dolphins. Oh my!

The Outer Banks of North Carolina is renowned for its beaches, harbors, sand dunes, lighthouses, salt marshes, wildlife, and recreational opportunities. It is a photographer’s dreamscape. No one knows the photographic opportunities of the Outer Banks better than Kevin Adams. And with the exceptional Donna Eaton as a co-leader, it just doesn’t get any better.

One highlight of this photo tour will be night photography. We’ll photograph at least one lighthouse at night, as well as spend some nocturnal time on the beach and at fishing piers. The nearly full moon will serve as a light source for some of our night work.

Another highlight will be a special dolphin tour that will take place on Friday, weather permitting. We have chartered a pontoon boat just for our group so that we’ll have maximum maneuverability for making photos.

We'll begin at 4:00pm on Thursday, May 11 and end around 11am on Sunday, May 14.

Physical requirements:

The Outer Banks is flat, except for the sand dunes. We will not be doing anything overly strenuous during this workshop. However, walking even moderate distances in loose sand can be tiring. And it could be very warm during the day. Also, we’ll be going strong for most of the day to help you make as many great photos as possible. You’ll likely be worn out by the end of the photo tour.

Lodging is not included and you are free to stay wherever you like. However, it is recommended that you stay at our host hotel, where we will have our meetings. The host lodging for this workshop is Comfort Inn South Oceanfront in Nags Head. (252-441-6315)
