Outer Banks & The North Carolina Coast

The Outer Banks of North Carolina is renowned for its beaches, harbors, sand dunes, lighthouses, salt marshes, wildlife, and recreational opportunities. It is a photographer’s dreamscape. No one knows the photographic opportunities of the Outer Banks better than Kevin Adams. And with the exceptional Donna Eaton as a co-leader, it just doesn’t get any better. More info...

Outer Banks Under The Full Moon

The Outer Banks of North Carolina is renowned for its beaches, sand dunes, lighthouses, salt marshes, wildlife, and recreational opportunities. Photographers come to the Banks in droves and shoot the same subjects in the same manner as everyone else. This workshop is different. You’ll photograph some of the same subjects, but you’ll shoot them at night, using light painting and other techniques to create unique and exciting images. A highlight of this workshop will be photographing the Outer Banks using the light of the full moon to illuminate the surroundings. This will be a special treat! More info...

Green Swamp, Wilmington, & The Cape Fear Coast
May 31 – June 3, 2016

Hauntingly beautiful longleaf pine savannas, 14 species of carnivorous plants, and countless wildflowers (including several species of orchids) make North Carolina’s Green Swamp a photographic paradise. But as spectacular as it is, the region remains relatively unexplored among nature photographers. Skip Pudney and I know the photographic possibilities—when things are blooming and how to find them—in the Green Swamp and surrounding land better than anyone. Skip has lived and photographed in the region for many years. In addition to searching out great scenic shots, he specializes in the wildflowers and carnivorous plants of the longleaf pine savannas and pocosins. Cades Cove & Great Smoky Mountains with Bill Lea & Kevin Adams
September 15 – 18, 2016

What could be better than photographing some of the finest scenery, wildlife, and cultural history in the country? What if we did it under the guidance of one of the Smokies’ finest photographers? Bill Lea is widely recognized as an expert on photographing Great Smoky Mountains National Park, particularly the scenery and wildlife of Cades Cove. His book, Cades Cove - Window to a Secret World, contains some of the most inspiring photos ever captured of this remarkable pocket of the Smokies. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Bill on this special photo tour. More info...
