Overview

If you’re already in the Nantahala Gorge area, this waterfall might be worth a stop, especially in wet weather. It’s very close to Whiteoak Falls and right beside the road. Look for it directly across Wayah Road from Old River Road, which crosses Whiteoak Creek just downstream from Whiteoak Falls. Jagged Rock Falls is about 40-feet high. After a good rain, it’s impressive, but in dry weather it’s not worth stopping for. The rock here is jagged, just like that at Whiteoak Falls. The countless mini-ledges break the flow of the waterfall, creating a great opportunity for photographing tight compositions.
