Driving Directions
The Trailhead is the same as for Moore Cove Falls. From the junction of US 64, US 276, and NC 280 in Brevard, drive north on US 276 for 5.7 miles to the small parking area on the right just before the bridge over Looking Glass Creek. From the Blue Ridge Parkway, it is 8.3 miles to the trailhead.
Hike Description
Hike to Moore Cove Falls. Just before reaching it, cross the creek below the falls to the illegal campsite (no camping is allowed within 1,000 feet of the waterfall). Next, you’ll cross another creek on the far side and pick up an obvious path. Follow the path upstream a short distance to an obvious side path that leads back down to the creek. Cross the creek and go a short distance upstream to Little Moore Cove Falls.
Overview
Little Moore Cove Falls is located in the cove to the west of Moore Cove Falls. It is nearly identical to it except it’s only half the size. Although smaller, Little Moore Cove Falls is just as scenic. Unfortunately, in all the times I’ve visited it over the past 25 years, the base has been a cluttered mess of fallen logs and branches. I still recommend visiting it. You will leave the crowds behind at Moore Cove Falls and likely have this one to yourself.
