OUTER BANKS LIGHTHOUSES, HARBORS, & PIERS
The Outer Banks of North Carolina is a true photographer’s paradise, and among the most popular OBX subjects are its lighthouse, piers, and harbors. In this photo tour, we’ll concentrate on these subjects. Your days will be packed, beginning with dawn twilight and lasting into the evening for dusk and early night.

SKILL LEVEL
For the night photography, attendees should have a firm understanding of how to change the exposure settings on their camera and be able to switch between manual and autofocus. And they should be able to do all this in the dark, without using a light. I’ll take it from there.
GENERAL ITINERARY
The photo tour begins at 2:00 pm on Thursday and ends around 10:00 am Sunday. On Friday, we will have orientation where I will give a program and discussion on the subjects you’ll be shooting during the photo tour. We will have dinner as a group and then go out for a sunset/dusk/early night shoot. We’ll begin at dawn on Friday and photograph all day, with perhaps a break before dinner. After dinner, we’ll go back out for a sunset/dusk/early night shoot. Saturday will be a repeat of Friday. On Sunday, we’ll go out early for another early-morning shoot and then have breakfast before saying our goodbyes.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
We will not be doing anything strenuous during this workshop. However, you should keep in mind that we’ll be going strong from dawn to dusk. We may have the opportunity to climb lighthouses, but anyone can opt out.
LODGING & TRANSPORTATION
Lodging is not included and you are free to stay wherever you like. However, it is recommended that you stay at our host hotel, where we will have our Friday meeting. We will provide hotel info after you register. Transportation is included during the photo tour, but if you are staying at a different location, you’ll have to drive to and from the host hotel.
