Full Moon Over Waterfall

The full moon rises above a waterfall. Two frames blended, one for the moon and sky, the other for the waterfall. Nikon D800, Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 lens, f/16 for starburst effect.

Waterfall at night

Nikon D800, Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 lens. Exposure for sky was 25 seconds, ISO 2000, f/4. Exposure for the waterfall and surroundings was a series of shots at 30 seconds, ISO 200, f/5.6.

On a couple of different layers from the shot above, I used a dive light and blue gel filter to illuminate the pool.

On yet another layer, I light painted the trees with a flashlight and green gel filter.

Star trails around Polaris

Stars farther away from Polaris create longer streaks than those closer in. Polaris barely streaks at all since it is nearly at the the celestial pole.

Moonbow at Rainbow Falls on Horsepasture Wild & Scenic River in North Carolina's Pisgah National Forest. Light from the full moon causes the scene to appear as if it were shot in daylight.
